The City of Prescott, Wisconsin (pop. 4,253) seeks an experienced and engaged law enforcement professional to lead our Police Department.
Located in Western Wisconsin on the confluence of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers, Prescott is a center for water and outdoor recreation. The City of Prescott Chief of Police is responsible for a community-minded department of 8 fulltime and 2 part-time sworn officers with 1 administrative assistant operating on a $1.1 million annual budget. The Department focuses on proactive, problem-oriented policing and has strong established relationships with area law enforcement as well as State and Federal agencies.
The Chief of Police is engaged in community organizations and is an active member of the City’s management team, supporting the entire organization’s efforts to serve the Prescott community while advocating for constant improvement of the City’s law enforcement resources.
Required qualifications include: Associated Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field of study; 5+ years of active law enforcement experience; possess a Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification; and a verifiable record of effective leadership and cooperation with community members, city administration and fellow department managers. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Starting salary range is: $75,000 - $85,000 (DOQ), with an attractive benefit package. Residency in the City of Prescott is encouraged.
