Prescott Daze:  This community wide event is held the first weekend after Labor Day.  The fire department offers chicken dinners, a Euchre tournament on Saturday, and live music Saturday night.  Area fire departments compete in a water fight Saturday.  The weekend is topped off with a parade on Sunday afternoon.

Fire Prevention Week:  Fire Prevention Week was started in 1922 to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of Oct 8-9, 1871.  The International Fire Marshals Association decided the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire would be a good time to inform the public about the importance of fire prevention.  During the week of October 9th, the Fire department visits the elementary schools to talk about fire safety.  Bi-annually the children get to experience the smoke house; a fire training tool that simulates a smoke filled house.
