New to town? Some things you need to know:

The local phone company is Centurytel;  to hook up a new line, change phone numbers/addresses, etc., please call 1-800-201-4099

Electricity is provided by Xcel Energy, 1-800-895-4999.

St. Croix Valley Natural Gas provides gas service to Prescott, 715-425-6177.

The United States Post Office is located at 1001 Campbell Street North

Cable TV is provided by Comcast, 1-800-255-4640.

Dial-up Internet Service can be obtained through PressEnter Internet (715-426-2100). DSL service is available from CenturyTel (1-800-201-4099), and broadband from Comcast Cable (1-800-255-4640).

To have water hooked up in your home, notify the city of change of address, or to get a final water meter reading, contact City Hall at 715-262-5544

If you are moving from outside of Wisconsin, you are required to change your license plates and driver's license.

Driver's License:

You will need your current valid State Driver's License, proof of Wisconsin residency, Social Security Number, and proof of signature. You will have to take an eye exam, but a written or driving test is not required. No appointments are needed and fees for the basic license are $18.00.

If you have lost your Driver's License:
You are required to show two identifications to prove who you are with your signature. The fee for duplicate license is $4.00.
