[ARCHIVED] Court & Laura Street Project

Court and Laura.jpg

Construction started Monday for the Court & Laura streets improvement project being built by McCabe Construction of Eau Claire. Pulverizing the old asphalt was the first thing to be done followed by the closing of one lane of Monroe Street Wednesday morning so the tie-in could be accomplished for the new watermain. McCabe did a great job of making this as limited a disruption as possible by having the lane open for traffic again by midafternoon.

Mail: The contractor is following the directions given to them directly from the Post Office. The original plan from the Post Office and the Contractor was to put two groups of mailboxes out, one group at Monroe & Laura, and the other group at Kinnickinnic & Court. The mail carrier for that area said if someone has special needs to let them know and a solution would be arranged. Post Office 262-5166

**Mailboxes from 415 Kinni - 163 Court up to 288 Court are located at 458 Walnut
**Mailboxes from 477 - 480 - 554 - 557 Ash From 288 - 492 Court and 475 - 477 Sycamore are located at the east side corner of South St and Court St

Garbage: Set containers out next to construction area as close as you can to where you would normally place them. PIG will pick up as usual. Special needs will be helped by the Contractor and the Construction Inspector from Cedar corp.

The street and driveways will be open at all times for Court and Laura Street residents only. EXCEPT when the actual trenching activities for pipe installation occur in front of each lot or when the barricades completely close an area for such things as tree removals. There will also be a short time that driveways will not be accessible when the driveway aprons are poured and the concrete cures. Our goal is to have every driveway open every night.

Please bear with us. We are very fortunate that the weather is nice enough that the project could be started earlier than planned. The sooner we start, the sooner we finish.
