The City recently approved the expansion of two businesses in the community. First, River City Stitch has been in business since 2007 and offers on-site custom embroidery, screen printing, promotional items, and graphic design services. They are investing in a 4,450 square foot expansion onto their current 2,200 square foot facility located at 1415 North Acres Road. The new addition will add a new printing shop area, screening area, additional workspace, staging/ ink area, and new storage space. River City Stitch was approved at the October 2 Plan Commission and October 9 City Council meeting.
The second business is New Adventures Learning Center at 1051 Orrin Road , which is a daycare that cares for ages 6 weeks to 12 years. They are investing in expansion of their facility by adding 10,000 square feet that combines their current parcel (1.23 acres) to an adjacent .56-acre parcel to accommodate the expansion. The expansion will add a conference room, waiting area, reception, two offices, two additional classrooms, and a gymnasium. The revised site will also have a new parking lot with 38 spaces and will allow for a projected capacity of 80 children and 21 staff members. New Adventures received their approval at the November 6 Plan Commission and the November 13 City Council meeting.
